About the Ojai Valley's Lions Club:
September of 2007 saw the rebirth of the Ojai Valley Lions Club as 20 members of
the local community united in community service. Through desire to serve, common
goals and friendship we have now grown to over 40 members. We strive to help
the community by service projects and fundraising efforts.
The previous Ojai Lions Club had been helping the community for generations and
we strive to be as great as they once were.
Meetings are held the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month at 6:30pm at the Oak
View Community Center located at 18 Valley Rd.
Oak View, CA 93022. Family night is on the 4th Wednesday. Dinners are included
in club meetings. If you are
interested in joining the Lions Club please be our guest at an upcoming meeting.

Our Mission
Article II the Ojai Valley Lions Club's Constitution notes that the purposes
and objects of this club are:
1. To create and foster a spirit of “generous consideration” among the peoples
of the world through a study of the problems of international relationships.
2. To promote the theory and the practice of the principles of good government
and good citizenship.
3. To take an active interest in the civic, social, and moral welfare of the
community.
4. To unite the members in the bonds of friendship, good fellowship, and mutual
understanding.
5. To provide a forum for the full and free discussion of all matters of public
interest; partisan politics and sectarian religion alone excepted.
6. To encourage efficiency and promote high ethical standards in business and
professions; provided that this club shall not hold out as one of its objects
financial benefits to its members.

Code of Ethics
TO SHOW my faith in the worthiness of my vocation by industrious application to
the end that I may merit a reputation for quality of service.
TO SEEK success and to demand all fair remuneration or profit as my just due,
but to accept no profit or success at the price of my own self-respect lost
because of unfair advantage taken or because of question
TO REMEMBER that in building up my business it is not necessary to tear down
another's; to be loyal to my clients or customers and true to myself.
WHENEVER a doubt arises as to the right or ethics of my position or action
towards others, to resolve such doubts against myself.
TO HOLD friendship as an end and not a means. To hold that true friendship
exists not on account of the service performed by one another, but that true
friendship demands nothing but accepts service in the spirit in which it is
given.
ALWAYS to bear in mind my obligations as a citizen to my nation, my state, and
my community, as to give them my unswerving loyalty in word, act, and deed. To
give them freely of my time, labor and means.
TO AID others by giving my sympathy to those in distress, my aid to the weak,
and my substance to the needy.
TO BE CAREFUL with my criticism and liberal with my praise; to build up and not
destroy.

Organization Profile
Lions are an international network of 1.3 million men and women in 205
countries and geographic areas who work together to answer the needs that
challenge communities around the world.
Since Helen Keller threw down the gauntlet in 1925, the primary objective for
the Lions has been the conservation and restoration of sight.
Known for working to end preventable blindness, Lions participate in a vast
variety of projects important to their communities. These projects range from
cleaning up local parks to providing supplies to victims of natural disasters.
Beginning in 1917, the association of Lions clubs has provided millions of
people with the opportunity to give something back to their communities. View LQ
(Lions Quarterly Video Magazine) on the Lions News Network to see how Lions
continue to make a difference everyday and everywhere.
